How did you get into Coaching.
I started my career as an employment specialist and then worked in a corporate environment as an analyst, senior trainer and Coach for over 16 years. I was also very involved in a my community administering programs that served the needs of single adults, women and youth As I started my family and sought more flexibility in my schedule, I was offered the opportunity to Direct and administer a Corporately sponsored mentoring program which I did for three years before retiring to raise my growing family. In my community i continued as an as an employment specialist and trainer. I love supporting people as they are in the process of changing their lives! Instead of returning to the corporate environment once my children were older, I decided pursue a certification in life coaching and start my own private coaching practice.
What formal training and professional memberships do you have related to coaching?
I completed my rigorous 2 year training program at the Fearless Living Institute in Boulder, Colorado. I’m a Certified Professional Life Coach, specializing in fear mastery, and a member of the International Coaching Federation. I’m committed to further education in coaching as well as ongoing personal development.
Why are you attracted to a career in coaching?
I am at my best and happiest when using my vast array of skills and tools to helping others succeed. As a result I've been able to be instrumental in supporting my clients to successfully change the direction of their careers, Re-energize marriages and see self-confidence soar! To be able to help others in this way is a joy in my life. Coaching is as much about the way you show up in your life as it is about the way you show up for those that you enter a coaching relationship with. I am a highly relational person.. Coaching is innate for me. It is who I am.
What qualities do you think make a great coach?
What is your experience as a Life Coach?
I have 10 years experience in a corporate training environment and another 10 years experience in my private practice. I am experienced in coaching individuals and groups. I have supported many people successfully navigate through life changes such as strengthening marriages, parenting teenagers, re-entering the work force after being a stay at home mom, midlife transitions, spiritual searching, career changes, relationship issues and facing the finality of death. I have been in the trenches with my own teenagers, and I understand the kind of support that enables parents to be successful in raising teens.
What are your personal interests?
I have been happily married for 22 years, and I have 3 wonderful teenage daughters, one in college. I have been involved in theater for many years, on and off stage and serve on the Executive Board of a local Community Theater in New York. When I can I take on acting, directing and musical direction projects. I enjoy dance, story telling events, live theater, great film. script reading (which I find odd, but thoroughly enjoyable) I only write a regular column/blog and am an amateur Genealogist.
